New Databases added

GPSE now has new databases added to it updated to list from Nucleic acids research 2009 database issue. We are also working to exclude certain journal entries from our search results so that searches on Protein and Gene ID are more specifically refined to fetching biological data associated with the query.

Database Tunneling

GPSe has now an added feature of tunneling through most widely accessed Genome and Proteome databases including genome browsers from the GPSe search engine source point. The new feature added to the Google's custom search service of dynamically linking pages have facilitated the developers to tunnel through databases.

For e.g use query as
- to search for p53 in genome browser ensembl
- 'p53 ensembl '

(...in some cases you may use Genome Browsers in Refined labels category to search, however this is being under review)

Users of GPSe can search a variety of genome browsers like Ensembl, UCSD Genome Browser,TIGR Genome browsers from their search results, this is a valid addition to that GPSe crawls. In the near future we are working ways to increase the spectrum of search to critical and upcoming sources of new data such as epigenomics, tiling arrays, RNAi databases etc. Efforts are on way to make search feature more interactive and robust.

Genome Proteome Search Engine

The Genome Proteome search engine (GPSe) is a specialised crawler that searches and fetches data pertaining to specified gene or protein directly without the need to scan through thousand of non-essential information that are obtained from general search engines. This bring in the much needed difference between a researcher and normal browser. For e.g. Searching for 'Insulin' or 'Cancer' between your everyday search engine and the Genome-Proteome Search Engine will tell you the difference that can be bought into a researches time and life and more essentially the trusted information that a scientist seeks.

Genome Proteome search engine (GPSe) is an innovative concept that is formulated to search the genome and proteome databases for specific data pertaining to genome or proteome of living organism. This search engine also searches data needed for model construction and simulations studies on systems biology.
